FAQs

How much do you charge for a website?
The price range varies a LOT depending on what options are included (ecommerce? email marketing? stock photography? etc.) Unless I am first able to learn a little bit about what you’re looking for, giving out a basic estimate is really just going to provide you with incorrect information, which doesn’t help you make a confident decision. So, I will happily talk to you and/or provide you with an estimate, all with no pressure to move forward, so that you will have a clear and precise idea of project cost.

How long have you been doing this?
Ever since 2001 when I got laid off from my 2.5 year stint as a web designer at a commercial real estate company. I jumped for joy and never looked back. Entrepreneurship = ♥

How do I subscribe to your blog?
Yeah, thanks for asking! At the bottom of the sidebar on the right-hand side of the page, under “Subscribe / Socialize” click on the large orange icon with the RSS symbol on it. From there you can choose which type of RSS Feed reader you use and confirm your subscription. Alternatively, you can subscribe to blog updates via email.

What do you mean by a “collaborative” working process?
I mean that we’ll be working on this project together. It won’t be you handing everything over to me, I whip it up in my private project laboratory and then hand it back over to you. Rather, we have lots of conversations, we weigh decisions and options and fine tune things along the way. Of course, this doesn’t mean that we don’t have distinctive roles. For more on that, see The Process page to learn more about how I work.

Can you provide references?
Jaja! Once we’ve decided to work together, I’ll happily put you directly in touch with previous/existing clients.

I really want to work with you but I can’t afford it right now. Options?
I’m sorry, I know it can be frustrating to be unable to access something due solely to financial concerns. I do offer flexible payment plans, anything from 50% retainer/50% balance due, to monthly payment plans that run the length of the project. Or, maybe we can break your project down into modules and extend the payments that way. If that still doesn’t fly, there is quite a bit of helpful information on my blog as well as my Do It Yourself guides that are really affordable. I sincerely hope this is helpful to you!

I’m ready to go, what’s next?
